White Chicks
Review (4.5/10)
(By Brendan Cullin)

Marlon and Shawn Wayans star as Marcus and Kevin Copeland, two FBI agents who screw up a kidnapping assignment and are forced to go undercover as Brittany and Tiffany Wilson, the snotty but rich hotel heiresses who are the targets of the kidnapping plot. This is the basic storyline of the Wayans brothers latest undertaking called White Chicks. The movie is directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans.

White Chicks is one of those movies that is best described by the phrase "what ya see is what ya get". If you are in any way familiar with the Wayans brothers' work from the past (ie. Scary Movie), then you should know what you are getting yourself into if should you decide to see this movie. There's plenty of potty humour, jokes about black people, jokes about white people, jokes about rich white girls, homosexual jokes and lots of bad acting - pretty much everything we can expect from a Wayans brothers production.

If you can believe it, I actually went into this movie with high hopes. I laughed at the previews, one time almost choking on the pop I was drinking while watching the trailer. I was expecting a tonne of laughs and ended up being disappointed. Yes, the movie is funny at times but it really is filled with more misses than hits. A lot of the fart, dick and gay jokes - we've seen them so many times that they just weren't funny anymore. Seeing some guy taking a big, loud stinky shit in a toilet - well, I just don't think I've laughed at that since I saw Dumb and Dumber. Seeing the dude sniffing the panties of one of the white chicks that was actually another dude? That was funny. But in the end, the movie just did not have enough of that brilliant humour to warrant a recommendation from this hombre. For all the comedic possibilities that existed from two black men dressing up as and having to live the life of two white women, White Chicks in the end is a colossal disappointment.
