Back in late August came word that "Slumdog Millionaire" director Danny Boyle was set to direct the pilot episode of UK Channel 4's new comedy drama series "Babylon".

All that was known at the time was that it is set in the world of modern policing, and is being penned by BAFTA winners Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong ("Fresh Meat," "Four Lions").

The British Film Institute are set to launch their own online streaming service, the BFI Player, which would compete with other popular UK streaming services like Netflix, LoveFilm and iTunes.
