Ben Wheatley To Direct "Doctor Who"

Rising UK cult horror and dark comedy director Ben Wheatley ("Kill List," "Sightseers," "A Field in England") is attached to direct multiple episodes of the BBC sci-fi series "Doctor Who".

Wheatley confirmed the news himself this weekend. His directing stint will be for the first two episodes of the eighth series, which will be the first to fully involve actor Peter Capaldi as the new twelfth incarnation of The Doctor (Capaldi will first cameo in this year's Christmas special).
