Grainger Hines ("Hell On Wheels") has joined the cast of Steven Soderbergh's ten-part series "The Knick" on Cinemax Clive Owen leads the cast in the story of New York's Knickerbocker Hospital in the year 1900.

Hines will play Captain August Robertson, a self-made shipping magnate and the hospital's benefactor who keeps it open to help the poor immigrants who have arrived in New York on his ships.

Though already discussed, Cinemax has finally officially announced the TV series "The Knick" which will hit screens in 2014. Clive Owen will star and Steven Soderbergh will direct all ten episodes with filming taking place in New York this September.

Set in downtown New York in 1900, the story centers on Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.
