Terminator 3
Review (8.5/10)
(By Brendan Cullin)

He's back! Ahnold is back to save the world. In the third installment of the Terminator series, it has been 10 years since the last time the machines threatened to take over the world and the human race is on the verge of destruction again. John Connor (Nick Stahl), the man who is supposed to lead the revolution of the human race against the machines, is once again being hunted down, this time by a technologically advanced and stunningly beautiful T-X killing machine (Kristanna Loken). Also on the hit list are Connor's future lieutenants, including the equally beautiful Kate Brewster (Claire Danes). Ahnold is sent back through time to protect John Connor and prevent Judgment Day.

That is the basic storyline of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Of course, there is a lot more to the movie than just that. There are some kick-ass car chases (well, maybe not exactly car - let's say fire trucks, a 50-foot long crane, a hearse and a few other vehicles), some incredible fight scenes and the usual spattering of Ahnold one-liners - about 95% of them are hilarious. There is even a tiny bit of T&A for those concerned - a little for the guys and a little for the gals. This movie has a bit of everything. And that one car chase with the crane is one of the most destructive car chases of all-time - simply awesome.

There's not much I can say about this movie that is going to stop it from making millions and millions of dollars. Terminator 3 is one of those movies that is simply untouchable. But I can assure you of this - the movie is worth every cent of your hard-earned money that you spend on it. There are not many movies that I walk out the theatre seeing (for free) and want to turn right back around and see again (not for free). It was pure entertainment. Not as good as the original Terminator movie, not as good as the second Terminator, but a damn fine movie. Don't worry about no James Cameron. Don't worry about no Linda Hamilton. And definitely don't worry about no Edward Furlong. Jonathan Mostow does a great job as director as do the new John Connor, Nick Stahl, and Claire Danes. And Ahnold? Well, he really should never do another movie besides Terminator. Ahnold is the Terminator. The Terminator is Ahnold. He really was great.

I heard someone drop the notion that Ahnold should be nominated for an Academy Award as a supporting actor for his work in this movie. An interesting thought indeed, although highly unlikely. A bit ridiculous, but definitely not offensive. Ahnold should be back as Terminator sometime in the future. He says so himself in the movie. He said it in the last two so there is no reason not to believe him this time. I just hope we don't have to wait another ten years. But hell, the wait was well worth it!
